This button came out of the woods near some old logging activity that i believe took place during the 50's. I assume it's from a loggers jacket? It appears to read "Double Orange Colour" around the rim on the back. The French spelling of color is a curiosity to me. French loggers?
Thanks for any input!!!

I found one just like that in my area that dates back to the early 1800's.

It is indeed an early 1800's civilian coat button. "Double Orange Colour" is what's called a quality mark and refers to the button's gilt finish. As NHbenz notes, the spelling colour is typically found on buttons of British manufacture; however, I believe that some of the early U.S. makers used it as well.
