Brass "E" Round Thing

Hello All. I found this over the weekend at an 1880's home site. It is brass, 7/8-IN in diameter, with nothing on the back. Thanks for the view and HH. C9

Here we go again...

I beat my brains out researching this item on the earlier thread. Since so many of these have been found, I focused much of my research on maintenance for some common piece of home or farm equipment from the early 20th C - like a pry-off end of a grease tube or something like that. Note that many of these items have a pry mark on the edge. Obviously, I found nothing definitive. If anybody has a different angle of approach or any additional information, I'd like to hear it. Love to "put this one to bed" as the saying goes...
