OK- first off the Susquehannock tribe; later called the conestoga had controlled all lands on the susquahanna from new York to Virginia in1640 they were aligned with the Huron. it has been reported that their encampments were protected by palasades. One in particular was in 1652 six chiefs went to Maryland and ceded to Maryland lands for witch they were given ammunition and a cannon. they were at war with the iraquoise and the five nations and were eventually descimated over a 20 year period following that transaction. By 1706 there were but 300 known to exsist. nothing of the cannons they had has come to light as far as I have been able to attain at this point, but it would stand to reason the five nations would have taken them..so I was looking for anyone coming across anything about indian held cannons to help me out. People on here come across a lot of things while reading historical documents. thanks JR
