Brass Buttstock

Found today. Solid brass with iron hinge pins. Penny for size referemce. Found near a civil war road, any suggestions welcome. Thanks for looking!

It dose not look like a buttstock but someone will know.

Not a butt stock but not sure what it is. Looks like a lever that had some kind of linkage that went through the square hole.

Not a gun part, I think it might be part of an old door latch but I can't find a match yet

Looks like a transom window latch hinge.

Don’t know why but I’m thinking a latch for a pocket door.
