Hi Everybody!
Just hoping to get an ID on this buckle thing I found today. I was swinging the Vaquero in a dirt lot next to a church that was originally built in the 1880s. It was kinda funny because some high school kid who just got off the bus came over and actually told me "the pastor doesn't want people in the lot!" I told him there are no fences or signs stating that it is private property or church property, so to me it looked like a safe spot. When he walked up to me, I just pulled a nickel out of a hole, It was a buffalo! Then as I turned it over, I realized it was a 2005 reissue! It had a nice brown patina and actually looked pretty old. Anyway, I figured rather than get in an altercation with a 15 year old kid, I would move on to a lot directly behind the "church lot". After the usual trash I got a nice solid signal that sounded fairly shallow. At about 5 inches, I found this buckle. It is brass as I knicked it with the Lesche when I dug it and can see the naked metal. It is quite heavy for its size. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm planning to go back there, but it would be nice to have a date on the buckle first. Thanks so much, Scott
