Brass buckle w/ gold overlay????

Need help identifying this buckle. Found where an early to mid 1800's house once stood. Sorry for the terrible pictures. The first two pics are of the front and back. 3" long. The last pic is after cleaning the buckle. No writing at all. Appears to be brass with a "gold" overlay. Please help. Thanks!

Also, the brass is identifiable where there are small scratches below the overlay. It is not magnetic. Want to know what type of buckle it was.

Depending what ran through the middle of the frame :icon_scratch: it's either a Sash buckle or a slide, proberly late 19th early 20th century :thumbsup:

It looks like it was a small copper rod that went all the way across. Attached on both ends.
