BRASS BEETLE THINGY??

I found this today in my back yard. It's about 1 3/4 inches long. It's hollow an has a tapered end almost like a gas line fitting. I have never seen any fittings decorated with a beetle though, LOL. The hole goes all the way through it also. It almost looks like the stem to a pipe used for smoking glaucoma medication but everyone around here has 20/20 vision (at least they BETTER have!!!). If someone recognizes what it is I sure would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Thanks for your replies everyone. The general concensus seems to be paraphenalia of some type. I showed it to some co-workers today and it was pretty much the same. It isn't threaded so I don't think it's a finial or the top to anything. I'll toss it in the "junque" box and hope I don't get raided someday LOL.

Make sure the inside is clean of any residue. Should be no problems.
