So I'm at my dump bank with $750 in dimes and $100 in nickels. Procede with the dimes and didn't get far before I heard the bag full clunk sound that it makes. Dime bag holds 1k so I usually fill it. The tellers are cool but I know they really don't like dealing with the coin counter. Bags heavy, etc. Well this time she opens it up and the bag has come loose. Looks like about 5k dimes all over inside of machine. Other teller comes over to help clean it up. They push and scoop the dimes onto the floor because dimes are everywhere inside machine, between the other bags, and then scoop them into bag. For some reason the dime bag attaches to the machine differently from all the other bags and the girl is having trouble attaching it. This is where the asst. manager gets involved. Now I have three bank employees helping me. They get it done and I continue my dump, hoping I don't fill the nickel bag also. I don't, and the count is correct. Cool. Get my receipt and head for counter. As I'm walking over, the asst. manager calls my name with a kind of pleading, "we need to talk" tone to her voice. Askes me if I've given any more thought to opening an account with them. This small local bank has three branches and I visit each branch once a week, dumping $500 to 1k. You don't need an account to dump or I would have already opened one but my volume and weekly visits were kind of wearing on them I think and personnel at alI branches had brought this up before, about opening an account. So I ask her if me opening an account would make her happy. She smiled and responded that their coin counter seemed to be working out really well for me and that it would be nice if I had some kind of relationship with the bank. So now I have a relationship with my dump bank. Sometimes you meet a cranky teller but most of the ones I deal with are very nice and chatting with them is my second favorite thing about CRH. Of course finding Ag is number 1.
