Looks like some type of compression ring like the ones used in and exhaust manifold to an exhaust pipe..... Or a bracelet :)

Yup, automotive exhaust flange gasket.

Be careful young lady, they have asbestos in them. Fibers will get under your skin. And yes, it's an exhaust gasket where the exhaust manifold meets the exhaust pipe.

It would depend on age and composition. The early ones (pre '80's or so) could have asbestos if it is the composite type. Some were solid metal and didn't have any. Asbestos is generally not a problem to handle, you just don't want to breathe any of it.
