Hello,

I found this in IL and spent a great deal of time trying to identify what time period this is from. I know the organization, Centralia Elks, was established on May 22, 1899. However, I cannot find another example of this token to narrow down when it was made.

The front says: "BPOE Centralia ILL." with "49x" at the center. I can't make out the last number but I assume it is a "3".
The back says: "Good For 1xx In Merchandise" I assume it is 10 cents in the center but am not certain.

Thank you

Maybe you could contact the lodge to find out more. It looks like it may be aluminum. If so it would most likely date between the late 1890s into the 1930s.

I'm not finding that one listed on token catalog. based on metal (aluminum), scalloped shape, and design elements like the 'bow tie', my opinion is that it should date somewhere between 1910 to 1920

Very cool token....
If you could find some aluminum jelly that would help clean it up a bit more.
Can't get it here in the Nanny state.

Thank you, I did some research and sadly I can't find any available for purchase. I have been using drain cleaner to clean it up so far
