Boy Scout camps are very good. Besides the coins and scout rings you'll get a collection of them necktie thingys. I forget what they're called. One of the more interesting finds you could make if your lucky is to find a mouth piece to a bugle. The boys must have hated t get up in the morning so they stept on the mouth piece to push it into the ground. Being all silver it will go off loud. I have found four of them and all were pushed in the ground with the mouth part up and where the tents must have been set up because of the tent stakes.

Good Luck,

Sandman

Sounds like you are going to have a great place to hunt. Post all your finds from the BS camp. I have on a few miles from me, I just might have to try. Good luck.

Yes they can be great. I found that if the main type of camping is tent camping you will find more. Also if they have a summer camp program and have been around a few years that would also help.

Good luck on the B S camp. I am staying at the Ameristar and they have these funny lookin machines that are just loaded with coins and paper money. Probably not far from You. :D :D Happy New Year ;D ;D

I don't know much about detecting boy scout camps...but I was a boy scout myself. If there's any place you'll find coins, it's near the concession stand area. There's nothing more exciting than being 13, and your parents giving you "spending money".... I speak from experience! :D

Maybe you will be the fist one to ever detect it. I have a old scout camp that will never run out of coins. Find out where they camp should be a large open area with a fire pit of some type.

Good luck

I haven't detected one myself but have heard they are great places to hunt, have seen a few people pull up some nice silver coins and many other interesting finds! HH, Mike

My brother has hunted Boy Scout camps and has done real well with a large collection of scout items.

my brother searched a scout camp for a couple years....found bucket full of coins, buttons, small pocket knives, lures, and pins......his best luck centered around the fire pit, the changing house {for changing into swim suit}, the outhouses and the bank of the pond that looked most used for fishing........now the camp is a housing development full of rich people wannabees who couldn't bait a hook or tie a knot even if it meant the only way of survival.................gldhntr
