I’m thinking this is a Boy Scout button but I can’t find a match online. You can see the letters LR on the back. It also has A8 and 22 on the back. It rang up a solid 80 on my AT Pro at 5” deep. I know that with the knowledge on the site I will probably have my answer sooner than later. Thanks for the help in advance.

In my opinion I don't think it is a boy scout button. I have never came across any while collecting the memorabilia. It may be from a vintage uniform or hat but I do not think so. It kind of looks just like a button with a fleur de lis on it.

Yes, I agree. The letter on the back is just an R (in old English) rather than LR, in case it helps determine who it's from.

I honestly don't know but my top two guesses are leather concho or a button from a pair of overpriced blue jeans.

I believe the "22" on its back indicates its size in millimeters. European buttons often have their size in millimeters marked on the back. Also, the Old English letter "R" on the stud's cap indicates European manufacture for your tack-button/rivet-button.

Now I know this isn't a match to your button, but I noticed the buttons on the jeans I'm wearing today and couldn't help but wonder if some day someone will be trying to figure out where they came from.

The old vintage Boy Scout buttons had a fleur de lis with "Be Prepared" under it.

depends on what era, the early ones from early 1900s shortly after it was founded did not

The BSA ones had the be prepared from 1910. Was it the British ones that just had the Fleur de Lis?

you know now that you mention it i went back to look at mine and it appears that the banner with "be prepared" was just worn and wiped and I never saw it. Dunno how i missed that when i was trying to id it.

After reading your answers the light went on. I own 3 pairs of the jeans. Yes they are expensive. They are made by Rock Revival. The most comfortable jeans I’ve ever owned but only wear them if I’m going out somewhere nice. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen much these days. Thanks for the help and perhaps it will help someone else down the road. The answer was in my closet. All I needed was pointed in the right direction.
