I have been going through boxes for the last 9 months or so, i dont really post much, but i thought this was interesting.
Recently for the last three weeks all the boxes i have been getting are sealed. Yet when i go todo them its clear that their someones dumps that the coin company has just put into a new box.
Im just wondering if anyone has seen this before and if so do you think it is a new trend with companies to not even deal with resorting people dumps
I dont mind marked coins and all, but when you get a sealed box of halves or dimes that all the wrappers are already opened its a little disappointing. Im planning on opening another account with a different bank to solve this. This is the only answer i could come up with.

It happened to me at two branches of the same bank about 6 months ago for about 8 weeks before I stopped ordering halves from them. They told me it was to save money so the bank chain simply just reboxed peoples deposited half dollar rolls. I still had the urge to check them until I started getting yellow NF String rolls that were rerolled and taped up. One lucky day I get two boxes full of brown paper rolls, which were my best two boxes ever. Box 1 had [16] 40%ers and [12] '64s and Box 2 had [18] 40%ers and [12] '64s. Then the reboxed/rewrapped yellow rolls began showing up again for weeks so I stopped ordering from them. Hang in there a bit, you just never know what you may find!!!

HH,

Were these Brinks? They have been doing this to me for weeks.

I have opened up a brand new freshly sealed box from brinks just to see a whole box of customer wrapped rolls sitting inside. -on more than one occasion, it makes you wanna puke. The absolute worst part for me, is that I cannot let myself dump them before I look through every one of them.-insanity?

good luck with that, my advice would be to work through it, just one of the many obstacles in this game.... You can only win if you play.

Insanity? Maybe.

But I believe it's somewhere in the CRH Bible, "ye shall never overlook any roll, no matter what it looks like, or what the teller may say about it."

Just today, I was handed $92.00 in old looking rolls, surely to be loaded with silver, the teller says, "you know there is no silver in these? We look through them all here."

Of course like an idiot, I buy them, search them, and curse them....ROLL, BY, ROLL. :tongue3:

There a new term boys, SEARCH AND CURSE." Coin it.

with the rise of teller knowledge and the government bound to step in, i don't see this hobby being around in the next 5-10 years. It has happened again and again throughout history that when people stumble onto something good and can make money with little effort, the big guys are bound to step in. Sure this hobby has been going on for decades, but not until recently has it expanded so rapidly. the unfortunate truth.

I tend to agree with you....but I'd like to play devil's advocate. Hasnt CRH been around since the 70's? And hoarding of junk silver for that matter? Teller knowledge is rediculous here in Phoenix, but I still manage to cull some goodies, especially today. Guess that's what visitng 5 banks a day/7 days a week will do, increase odds of scoring.

CRH has been around for quite a long time, but never have prices been as high as they are now and i'm sure the big guys want to see a cut of that profit. Whats to stop them from a mandatory seizure of silver coinage if in the future our economy turns even further south?

Because the Gov can print money faster and cheaper then actively seizing your coins. They haven't seized coins since the 1930s. And with the Tea party movement, I don't think anyone in washington is looking for more disgruntled voters anytime soon. The President, Senate, and Congress have very low approval ratings and with unemployment at around 9%. They are all to busy with jobs and tax legislation.
