Today I got two boxes of dimes. As I left the bank I realized both were completely full of 2007P dimes. I went back to my favorite teller and asked her if there was any way I could exchange them. She said no. :(

How often has this happend to you guys?

Hope another bank doesn't complain to much when I try to deposit two complete boxes - all wrapped.

Just go to a bank where you have an account, and fill out a deposit slip. They will have nothing to complain about then.
:)

I've had that happen a couple of times with pennies and nickels.

If the box is still sealed and they are paper wrappers (looking through the peepholes to see all shiny new coins), I have had no trouble exchanging, though I usually bring it back to a different bank/branch than the one I bought it at.

If the wrappers are plastic, I have always opened the box and while come to think of it I have never had all new coins in plastic so its never been an issue.

I also have had it happen with halves, but for those I just open em and cash em as usually the banks don't want to hold them either. Though sometimes you could use them for trade at certain banks.

I bought a box of halfs recently ALL 1995's Such luck. Oh well The next box was better. HH Gayle

I had a similiar situation and went into a different bank thinking I could just exchange a box of dimes for a box of dimes. It was sealed with a date and inspector # on it. They told me they could give me a box but the new box had to be unrolled, so I watched 2 ladies tear open the rolls and put them in bags. I felt bad for causing them so much work . Them tearing the paper rolls in half and trying to get the dimes out that way. It seemed like it took quite a while 25 minutes or so...

but it all worked out in the end. I think I got 1 or 2 roosies from the box they gave me.
