Box o' cents... and a 1909!

.. unfortunately not a VDB. Still, my first one. Overall, a pretty interesting box, with a bunch of teens and 30s, and two steel pennies. A couple look almost uncirculated and the 1916 one is also in great shape. Maybe someone's collection?

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

Nice haul. Better luck next time on the VDB.

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

Sorry no pics - threw them all in the pile already...

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

a 1909 goes in the pile huh? okay then

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

Yep, sure does. Are you just being confrontational to be confrontation or do you have an actual problem with my post?

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

it doesn't make any sense throwing a good condition early coin into a pile of wheat's. that's all. its just credibility

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

All of my wheats go into a big 5 gallon plastic water jug - once I fill it up with wheats I will most likely stop searching cents for copper and wheats but if I am still into it at that time I will start a 2nd jug! The water jug/s will be given to my kids someday to pick through and selll to make some money or give to their children. I do have a bunch of better dates in the jug in really nice condition too, a bunch worth in the $5 - $25 range but I don't bother putting them in a coin folder or slabbing any of them (not sure why). :dontknow:

I don't know why I toss all of my wheats into a big 5-gallon jug but it probably has to do with the fact that I consider my self more of a metal salvager and less of a coin collector. jlr1076 may fall into this category as well.

I agree, some of the finds do seem hard to believe- But I also never believed Cards and DBs finds, till I hit a few awesome boxes myself. The coins don't know how long we have been chugging away at the hobby. It is quite often, just dumb luck.

I do agree though that some people are finding joy in posting BS finds just to get responses. However, just keep doing what you do, and keep searching and enjoying it. Those non legit posters will lose interest.

I promise you all my finds are legit!

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

Ugh, no wonder some of the old timers are leaving this board. The value of the 1909 in good condition is like what, maybe $2? I'm not going to slab every single coin of mine. And what, you're getting jealous because people are getting solid rolls? You sound like a little baby. Grow up.

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

Also, if I was going to make something up, why the hell would I make up a post about finding 22 wheats in a box? You really are an idiot.

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

thank you my friend you've clarified all my thoughts about you and your posts.
you're not worth my time. have a nice night

thanks N8.. i will do that.

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

Don't hate my fellow CRHers!!! Some of us on this forum are metal salvagers and others are coin collectors and others are a mixture of the two. Most people who have been at this hobby a while have had some really good scores no matter what denomination they search. I also think people like to tell others about their finds which is why this forum sees so many newbies posting awesome scores and then many of them don't continue to post and act as a regular on the forum. Remember, a basic rule is not to question the authenticity of peoples reported finds on this forum, if you don't believe them, it is better to say (write) nothing at all.

HH and let's keep it positive! :icon_sunny:

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

i agree silver surfer. i'll stick to that thank you for the help

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

JLR- I totally believe your finds and 99% of the people onhere. You are not the one I am questioning nor do i think AGB is questioning. Your finds are great!

There have been posts where, you read the post, and in it they admit they lie, things of that nature.

Keep up the good work-

And to AGB. Remember, people are doing what we do. If your amazing penny find from last night turns out to be genuine, who is going to read your post on the day its validated and believe you found a piece of history in a box of cents?

We are all in this together, to quote one of our fine forum members.

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

People fighting with AGB and RileyBoy. What is going on here??!!??
These are two of the nicest most genuine people on this forum.
Please everyone on here needs to RELAX!!
In the end it's just coins.....
RELAX!!!!

Re: Box o' cents... and a 1909!

Been posting here a long time, never had anyone question my post. Until AGB. And a wheat find of all things. Sheesh.

You're not worth my time either. Have fun being jealous of other people's finds.

you would hate to see my pile of wheats then. There are several 1909 and 1909-VDBs in it. If it is poorer condition than the coin in my album, the coin goes into the pile.

I don't consider myself a copper hoarded by any means, but i do hoard wheaties :)
