I like the challenge of trying to get that perfect score of 300, and I kind of identify with "The Dude" in The Big Lebowski (If you haven't seen that movie - you need to - although it's either a love it or hate it kind of movie) - so especially now that I don't have the 40 hour a week gig any more, I could see myself getting more into the lifestyle of the Dude. I don't have one of those robes though. I DO have bowling shirts and I'm sure I have one of those vests around here somewhere like John Goodman wore.
Anyways here's the idea.
Anyone who wants to get together and BS and bowl, or just BS while others bowl, or just bowl and don't BS - well you get the idea - I plan to be bowling every other week at Woodview Lanes in Elgin.
I usually will get there around 7:30 PM ish, and I usually bowl 4 games. I think they close at 10PM so it won't be one of those all nighters that you'll regret. Well you might regret it but it won't take all night to find that out.
Details:
NO dues, it's not a league, just an informal get together when you can, kind of bowling club.
If you can show up, GREAT! If not - no big deal - nobody will get p'd off that you missed a game.
PRICE: $1.50 per game, I think shoe rental is still $3.00
They have automatic scoring that works *most of the time*
They have a snack bar with the usual stuff including pizza that's pretty good, softdrinks, and a bar for the other kind of drinks and beers. I don't know if they even know how to make a White Russian...

Let me also state that I don't work there, I don't get a commission or a reduced rate or free drinks or anything for setting this up. I'm doing this because I like to bowl and it's easier to bowl when more people join in because then I get to rest in between frames. And during that rest period I occasionally partake in a beverage or two that the bar has to offer. I'll have to see if they can make a "caucasian" as the Dude called it.
If you show up in a purple jumpsuit, and know what the character's name was that wore it, drinks are on me!
So if you plan on going, check in here so I can let the bowling alley know approximately how many lanes I want together. If starting this at a later date is better for you, let me know that as well.
