I have the chance to buy a Bounty Hunter pinpointer for about $60.00 shipped, has anyone used this? and is it worth $60.00? Thanks

Mine just came in the mail 15 minutes ago, I'll test it this weekend and get back with you.
Just playing with it, It's green plastic and has a black knob under the probe. The Knob controls sensitivity so it whines when you turn it on and I suppose you turn it untill it stops whining and back until you find the exact spot where it quits. The instructions are minimal and it feels like one of your better plastic flashlights. We'll see how it does in the field.

I took the BH pinpointer out 10 minutes ago and used it to help me find a pocketknife that my son lost 15 years ago. I used the pinpointer and a screwdriver to put a small hole in the front yard. Luckily for me i didn't stick my finger in the hole (the blade was open)!
I paid less than 60.00 shipping included so it seems worth it to me. the probe needed help in the semi dry black gumbo soil but the screwdriver broke up enough to let it do it's job.
Be sure to not let the knob get moved while probing, it gives a false signal.
