My job gives me the chance to get out every once in a while to some remote places in the deserts of Nevada, Arizona and California. On a recent trip, I happened upon a neat hill covered with small, what look like, shelters. I thought this might be an interesting spot to do some brief exploring. Well, I was making my way up to the hill while I kept my eyes searching the ground and sure enough, my eyes spotted a flaked piece of rock; possibly Jasper. I eventually made my way to the shelters and did some checking there. Not finding anything there, I made my way back down to the area where I spotted the flake.

Eventually, I spotted a few more flakes of various size and shapes here and there. Unfortunately, no arrows were found.
While circling around one hill, I happened upon a little shelter and spotted an odd shaped rock. Upon closer inspection, I found what seems to be a stone tool. Most likely used to help in the knapping process. (What do you think?)

All in all, I was very happy with what I spotted/found during that brief trip. I hope you enjoy the pictures I've included. Does anyone else find anything in Nevada? I have a couple other pictures that I will share of other places at a later time. Thanks, for looking.

Keep looking around youll find something more than likely.

ahh the desert. of course anyone would go to the rock you see. if you found signs of occupation below ,that is a good indicator! i would look in the immediate area with a bit more erosion;places that are lacking less soil and more rocks. it is always a good practice to start low then go up. GOOD LUCK!

Plehbah, I think you might have the wrong impression of me. I, in no way, intend to or plan on desicrating/destroying any site of probable or non-inportance. I have the up-most respect for other cultures, artifacts and history. I am merely curious and interested in gathering photographic evidence and documenting the habitation peoples from the past. I have lived on the West coast my whole life and have never been to or have found a place where I have found an arrowhead or other tool lying in the open. Please understand how excited I will be when I do find my first official arrowhead; especially on the West coast. Please don't think that I am going to haul off and take a back-hoe or shovel to do some prying. I am totally excited just to find these flakes if you will. Thanks for hearing me out.

Plehbah, Thanks for your comments and kind words. Sean
