11" TALL 1 1/2" WIDE AT TOP AND 2 1/2" WIDE AT BOTTOM. iTS NOT A SCOPE.. YOU CANNOT SEE THROUGH IT. HAS C.W ON THE BOTTOM INSOME SORT OF STAIN. AND VS.C. LTD BURNED IN IT...

pICTURE WITH THE DEEP HOLE IS THE BOTTOM THE BLURRY ONE IS THE TOP.. Any info would be great!!

BTW I paid 5.00 for it

It looks like a bobbin from some sort of industrial textile loom. I have one that was made into a kaleidoscope that looks very similar to yours. I could be way off though.

Does the hole go all the way through? Might be some kind of game call without the reed? WAG Monty

How old is it?? Are the markings from the company? I couldn't find any that looked like this exact one

Are there threads? Kinda looks like the handle of a fly fishing rod.

It's a fairly modern industrial spindle bobbin; tapered type (like the beehive bobbin) to draw thread off the top.

I was at an estate sale and saw one similar....the lady said "bobbin"

There use to be a textile mill in town and I remember taking a tour and saw some that looked like that. But it's been so long ago I can't say for sure. I mainly remember they were made of wood and it seems like they were longer? But of course I would imagine there was more than one kind depending on what size of thread or cord they were using. Monty

Appears to be a vintage cone style yarn bobbin made from oak.
Perhaps worth up to $20 to a collector :thumbsup:
