I decided to hit a spot I haven't ventured to in quite a while, a location I refer to "Tragedy Beach" given that in 1906 a landslide killed 19 people of which 11 were found, destroyed 21 homes, five streets and two avenues. This place always produces and today was better than usual, meaning everything was either on the surface or slightly on the surface or in one case standing upright just below the surface of the water so pretty much no digging involved. However, given the somewhat sketchy neighborhood its seldom hunted. Unfortunately, until they come out with a detector that zero's out iron and false hits, my machine is useless here. Ok, so enough of my BS here are some of things I found..

Looks like a really productive site. I very much like the look of the bottle on the left with the spoon. Is that what you referred to as a blob top? If so what approximate date was it in use?

Yes, that is a blob top. Blobs were starting to be made around the 1820's-1830's up until 1890's

You did great. Thinking of trying the bottle collecting next.

I've got a little bottle collection of my own. Those are awesome.

Bottle collecting is work, in my case absolutely filthy, since I am usually getting all my bottles from the banks of the Hudson and the Raritan rivers..I prefer this way since you never know what the next tide may bring/reveal..

All mine came from the hills in the back woods of salem. Stumble across many old dump sites from back in the day....heh

No doubt yours is a "RARE" also. Maybe even an "ULTRA RARE"...hehe

Nice Assortment! congrats!

The only button I can come up with regarding the one I have a question about is a "Federal Officers Staff Button"

Great stuff! You even have the bar to go with the Vice President Thurman medal. Is that a geode in the picture too?

No geodes, if your talking about the red thing it's some weird stone maybe an insert to an old piece of jewelry. The white thing is either a button or a know of sortd.

I guess I will be the first to comment on the creepy doll face you found....I would have re - buried that where I found it....gives me the heebie jeebies! Super awesome on the bottle finds! I like the little ink bottle, that one is the coolest if you ask me.

Why thank you, I have so many carters inks that I don't know what to do with them, still looking for a few stoneware inks. About the dolls face, yea it's a bit creepy, not the creepiest by any means. I have found a suspected piece of human lower jaw bone with two molars. I confirmed the molars with a picture and my dentist who also hunts. Maybe one of the missing eight people, who knows. .All I know it's far far away from me and really regret finding such a thing..I may still have the pictures.

Gold or Silver fillings?

Yeah that's way more creepy than the doll face.. .you officially win the "creepiest find of all time" award

Your button looks to be a General Service Eagle Staff maybe Civil War era depending on the back.
