Dutch rum bottles, onion bottles and wine bottles found by our customer at the coast of Suriname. To date they found 218 bottles not including around 300+ broken ones. They are still excavating the spot. The bottles date from around 1620 - 1715. Here some photos of only a few of the excavated bottles:

Too bad they were all empty :tongue3: Looks like that is an interesting site, but have all your finds been rum bottles? Must have been a trading post.

I don't know if I am in the dark or something but from what I do know, those bottles have to be extremely rare to find whole never mind the horde that I see here! They are certainly rare on this side of the world and since I have dug bottles most of my life, I would faint if I just dug one of those!
Thanks for sharing this story and now I have to go from being green with envy. :icon_biggrin:
Dave.
