Hello fellow Tneter's,

I found this piece of a bottle the other day at an old ghost town's dump site in AZ.

Any help would be great.

The embossed bottom says:

NO 65
PATIN US
DEC 22 1903

Why the specific date? The bottle shard is a light purple and about 2 inches across.

That is interesting, with specific date...

Maybe it was a patent remedy bottle?

I'll look for a bottle site, for you.

There should be plenty around to research from.

The purple color comes from the magnesium in the older clear glass. I always place any old clear bottle in a sunny spot they turn purple over time. Should be a mucho sweet place to hunt. Let us know what other loot you dig up.
