It looks like the patent design is 1935. Should be no earlier than 1935 to a good number of years later. Someone with more knowledge about bottles than me should chime in. There is a bottles forum on the treasurenet site. Post it there or ask a mod. to move it.

A in a circle………Armstrong Cork Company (Glass Division), Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Millville, New Jersey [former Whitall Tatum Co. plant] ; Dunkirk, Indiana [former Hart Glass Mnfg Co. plant]. Mark was used from 1938-1969 on bottles and insulators. If there is a line underneath the “circled A”, this indicates the bottle was produced at the Dunkirk plant.

You are correct the design patent is 1935. Its always best to post the supporting reference, link or image (so I dont have to do it). :laughing7: https://www.google.com/patents/USD9...YBQ&ved=0CDUQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=95464&f=false

I believe design patents were good for 14 years so the bottle can be dated 1935-1949.

49 should = 1949
Should be but maybe not. Does the glass division of Armstrong Cork use the same date number system as Owens-Illinois Glass? Again its best to post supporting reference, link or diagram, If you have a bottle dating code for Armstrong Cork Co, please post it, because I dont have it and I cant find it.

Either way, until we can find the Armstrong Cork Co (glass division) code , I think its solved 1935-1949.
