Hey Ben

Nice looking containers. Is this an old dumping area?

I was raised on a farm and all of the neighbors for generations dumped their trash back by the old headwall where a stream started that eventually led into the Scioto river.

anyway there were hundreds and hundreds of old bottles and after i got my dad's BB gun (about 7 or 8)... my friends and i would throw the bottles in the water and shoot them till they sunk.

Funny how a persons perspective shifts after they grow older.

hello sanat....

best i could tell is that the ditrt was brought it from another site to do some grading ..it has a light odor..

Now that would have been a blast to find those. I love old bottles. Great going Guys!

Nice bottles. I wonder if you could ask the construction guys where the dirt fill came from and then maybe go there - get the really old stuff. The newer trash is dumped onto the older stuff, right, so the older stuff could still be where the dirt fill came from. It might be worth a try. You and Jorge did very well, regardless. Congrats.

what I have figured, is the park is built on top of old landfill dirt, this park has been around since before I was a tot, I'm thinking they leveled it out long ago with this old fill........I walked over to the baseball bullpin, and found pottery chips, and glass. They scraped down pretty deep and re graded the area.....so allot of the bottles are damaged........but there are some nice finds still......and not much digging!!!!
i think the large piles of dirt are from just scraping the area......
