Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Well today I didn't have much time to get out the detector but I ended up in my pile of junk behind the house which used to be the city dump from late 1800's to about 1960 and 47 bottles pulled today. BUT the coolest one was the first one I found and it was sticking out of the side of the bluff about 15 feet up so I got to scale some dirt =D I saw the bottom of it and went whats this? So up I went and it was just cool. I love this thing. It says Jos Wolf Milwaukee Wis. From what I found in a very very brief search was that these types of bottles were made around 1860-1900. I don't care if it was made last week and someone rocket propelled it into the ground I just love it!

(if you want to see the other bottles I pulled I put the pic up in the bottle section)

Thank you all! (and Ifoundit for the link) Fun to think my house was built in 1870 and at the time was a tavern (er and brothel) so there could be a good chance that the bottle was from this house even. Makes me love it even more! Now time to trek back there with the hubby to see if we can dislodge another goodie from a dead tree stump.....will post it if we can =)

That's a beautiful bottle Vandaria! I'm glad your husband is getting into detecting now.:)

Oh no he isn't into the detecting..he is helping me dig out a good 7-8foot sign for Gargoyle Motoroil lol We thought it was 2 signs then realized it was connected. It's stuck to the side of the bluff under a tree root and some rocks..and frozen ground..and glass and lol Taking a break now I took a pic of it mostly uncovered, tho you can't see the artwork so we have no clue what kinda shape it is in. Will post when we free it =)

So he's just into digging period huh? Can't wait to see what you uncover!
