Went out today in the water and got a 1916 S Mercury and a 1916 barber. Also got what I believe to be a Fred Harvey bracelet. Mark says silver products / coin silver
Great finds! It is interesting that both dimes are dated the same year. I wonder if they were lost in the same year or further apart chronologically? Good job!
That just may be an older bracelet. Coin Silver means 90% silver. The same silver content found in most early Silver Coins. Sterling Silver has a 92.5% silver content. In the 1880's, American Silversmiths switched from Coin Silver to Sterling, to stay on par with European Quality Silver pieces which were Sterling.
Fred Harvey was born in England in 1835 and was a very successful restaurateur, setting up railroad dining cars. He died in 1901. His son, Ford, took over the Fred Harvey Company operations.
The Thunderbird design on your bracelet was a design that was copyrighted by the Fred Harvey Company in 1909. In 1923, Maisel's Indian Post opened in Alberquerque and began offering Coin Silver Jewelry. The Fred Harvey company had set up numerous shops that sold Native American Products.
I don't know how old the bracelet is but I have a feeling that it is old. Can you decipher the maker's mark?
Congratulations on the silver dimes.
