P.S. I'm trying hard not to imagine Paul Revere using a parasol.

Archies stumped by parasol runner! Dozens of metal detectorists ID the find in less than a minute! Lol! You can't fix stupid, archies!

Funny thing....I was assisting on an archie dig not that long ago and the Director had no clue what the white porcelain discs were that showed up in the pits. I told one of his diggers that they were porcelain liners for mason type jars and she hollered for him to come over and see, only to his embarrassment. They also found a cobblers cast iron shoe form and he called it farm machinery.....had to correct him again.

Truth is, relic hunters have done more to identify artifacts that many archaeologists. We spend a lot of our time, money, and energy on our passion.
