sorry,cant tell weather it is a toy or what it is.I would take it to a local gunsmith if you feel it is real.perhaps electrolosis.

I turned the picture over, and enlarged the gun, and I agree with Bigfoot, I think it's a toy cap gun. It looks like the trigger guard has been broken, the grips are iron, typical of a cap gun, and from what I
can see of the hammer, it looks like one on a single shot cap pistol I had when a kid.
