My guess Considering the Boone Block bldg dates easily pre 1872.
and you found large cents,
I'd be more inclined to believe it was the room 31 key fob at Boone Block .

especially since Boone Block Mining Co. dates 1918-1923 . long after large cents were replaced.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Covington Kentucky is basically Cincinnati Ohio, but across the river. Thanks everyone for there input.
