Hello All,

VP here, Paco had the idea to make a road trip today. We've been getting cabin fever from not being able to get out detecting. See there's 5 inches of snow on the ground in our part of PA right now (and another big storm coming)

Paco's buddy down near Philly had said they had no snow on the ground and since we both had off today, I figured ok, what the heck- ROAD TRIP ! We drove about 2-1/2 hours one way to hit this park. (unfortunately Kirk & Kyle couldn't get out today)

Once we got there, we both started getting clad with every sweep, which was frustrating. The park was from the mid 1850's and there were houses on the site before it was a park. So we figured there might be some old silver there.

I hit an area by some old steps that had a slate sidewalk in front and found a 3 ringer Civil War Bullet ! I've never found one before and definately wasn't expecting one in the middle of a city park ! The thing is HUGE - a lot bigger than I thought it would be frm pics online. When I showed it to Paco he couldn't believe it !

That's when I started really searching the area hard. Within 5 minutes I had another hit that was an iffy signal on the SE - it read an inconsistent 07-26 and was about 5 inches deep. I of course dug it and to my surprise pulled out a large disk covered with dirt. I immediately called for Paco who was about 75 feet away. I raised my hand and showed the disk, he started walking to me wondering what I had found. When he got closer I raised it again and he could tell it was a coin. He started running, I still hadn't looked at it but was pretty excited. I looked quick and saw the "One Cent" thru the dirt and then quickly handed it to Paco who had arrived ... I said "Dude - I think I got a large cent, what's the date ?!!!!!!" I still was a little in shock that I had found it.

He rubbed it a bit and excitely said "1835 !!!!!" We both jumped and high fived each other !!! Couldn't believe this stuff was coming from a city park ?????

Ok, I had one more signal that unfortunately I had to leave there, which really bummed me out 'cause I know it was a good one. Ya see it was reading a SOLID 00 19 on my SE, was about 5 inches down BUT was right under one of the slate sidewalk slabs !!!!!!! about 12 inches from the side. I figure that it was there before the slabs were layed down - maybe in the late 1800's ???? and since my 1835 copper was only found a few feet away, I figure it had to be a small silver coin ...

I didn't dig it because we were in the middle of this city park and the road and police station were very close by, I figure I would have had a huge pile of dirt laying there trying to get the thing out, so I passed on it.

I'M KICKING MYSELF NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so once we wound up for the day, Paco decided to start throwing his clad at me. So we had a good spirited clad fight in the middle of the park - it was TOO FUNNY !

It was a fun trip, I felt bad Paco hadn't found anything good, but he enjoyed sharing in both my finds and said that it made it worth while. Thanks again Paco !

I know you will, too. If my yard dated back to the 1860s, I would, too. :D Pac, we need to have a BDD conference call. I hope Kevin told you about some ideas that he shared with Kyle and I earlier in the week.
