The winter has been miserable here on the east coast North east pa to be exact , so i enjoy indoor flee markets/auctions etc etc , I picked up this pair for $25 Bucks :icon_scratch: seems they are old , heavy about 5lbs each ,they look like two birds or eagles , really great condition no chips or cracks, but i am stumped as what they are/worth/age and used for ??? they both have hollow holes going through the bottom to the center very thick , was this how the crystals where blown , or do they fit on some sort of Post ??? where they worth my $25 cabin fever investment :laughing9: . Note if you look @ the pix with the tape messure the thick holes go through about the 7 inch mark to close to the 4 inch mark on both like the belong on a post or something like that

Do these stand up nicely on there own? They may simply be art pieces. Weren't hand made glass pieces popular in the late 50's? I remember my mother had hand made glass objects as decorator items when I was a kid. My brother and I broke one while swinging a blanket around in the livingroom. Ouch...

actually they do not stand on there own , the bottoms are uneven and top heavy as you can see on the photo of the one on the right the bottom left is uneven , it is like the holes belong somewhere i have no clue it is definitely heavy crystal ,like early 1900 czech crystal

Might sound way off track,,,,,they could be candle snuffers. For tapers at the dinning table. Then they are left to hide the burnt candle end. Just a thought. Ive seen em made out of LOTS of different metals and glass.
