This past week I've been going at this old farmhouse location, and I've found what seems to be a mixture between a trash pile and a place where they left cars to rot. I've found everything from tractor parts to license plates to vintage glass bottles. I'm having an issue putting a date on this fisher body plate, I took it off a very rusty piece of metal in the middle of the old trash heap and I can't quite put a date on it......

I'll post pictures of the bottles and stuff I found if anyone seems interested!

Any information, would be amazing; I know they put plates on Chevy cars all the way up to the early to mid seventies.

Thank you guys!

Is it brass or aluminium?

If Brass - 30's thru 50's.

I don't think its aluminium, would the brass be plated with something?

It must have some type of wash over the brass. All the ones I see on-line from the 30's and 40's have the silver/gray around the edge.

Are they screws or rivets ? I can't tell. Early Fisher bodies were wood framing covered with tin panels, my 40 Chev. has some wood but nowhere near what the older ones did.

I tried earlier (but failed) to figure out if the marking on back from the Electro Chemical Engraving Co had changed over the years. It seems some are marked NY and others Detroit, and this one just U.S.A.... I got nowhere with it

I'm pretty puzzled on this one.

Probably pre 1930 as a slotted screw was used.

I'm hoping its pre 1930, that would be a crazy find.

Dig up the rest of the car, that would be REALLY crazy! LOL

I have a 64 Impala and it has similar badges. I will try to get a pic. I think it is from the door molding.

My parents had a 1963 Chevy Impala, and this badge was in the center of the door molding on the floor.

Neat find :)

Nice looking badge! I'm thinking its somewhere between 1925-1950? Correct me if I'm wrong.
