Got curious and paid the $5 to cross the bridge today to check out the beaches since id never been there. Lot of Public accesses and the state beach... but not huge. $3 to park at the State Park and am i correct you can only hunt the beach NOT the water in Fl state parks? Anyone ever hit these areas? Anyone interested in taking a day and hitting these accesses?

I wish you luck.

Dew if I was you stay away from Boca Grand, bad place to go. Know one hunts there for a reason,it has been known to be haunted, and this is not a joke.

Its ok Ron.... ill hunt it just before the mother ship comes to pick me up :). Now i am curious.....

You can't legally hunt in the water in Fl. state parks. You used to be able to, until they revised the Isolated Finds Policy some years back. Now it's low tide line to the dune line only.

Dew you can laugh all you want, but I've talk to guy that have gone down there their detectors have worked fine on the mainland and haven't worked on the island.

I'm not scared, I'd love to give it a spin!

The last time I was there I snapped this photo. I ain't going back.... EVER.......

I got a response from Can Slaw saying the Rangers had put it off limits to detecting. That might make sense at the State Park.... but im not sure of their authority to deny it for the whole island. Ill have to do some checking i guess. Seems like a lot of people are trying to discourage me here.

Dew I was just kidding. I'm not trying to discourage you at all. I have never hunted there but I know you can hunt in Ft. DeSoto in the water and that's a state park.

Ft Desoto is a county park not a state park.
