My eldest son has been catching some nice 'stripers' on
the Illinois river, where it runs into the 'Arkansas' river.
He asked me to go along, he fishes at night some.
But it had rained hard in this area last night & 'muddied' the
water, so we just settled for a nice boat ride.
The bridge is the 'repaired one', that was demolished by a barge several years ago, with several lives lost, it is I 40 hwy.
We put the boat in at a little place called 'Webbers Falls'.

Very nice photos Fossis...who cares about the fishing when you get to spend some great time with yor son!!

Dave

Excellent Fossis. That looks like a pretty big river, kind of reminds me of the Mississippi. Nice looking boat your Son has.Looks like it will get out and scat! Thanks for the boat ride I enjoyed it.

Nice pics. I think I would have still had to get a line wet. My buddy has had good luck recently fishing for salmon in murky water using those blinking flatfish with a sardine wrapper.

Thanks, I taught him to fish, but he has far surpassed
my talents now, I just 'bank fish' with minnows mostly now. :-\
But it was a great time out.

Yeah the 'old Arkansas' is pretty good size, & there
has been enormous amounts of rain 'upriver' all year.
He just bought the boat a few months ago, & he has a nice camper, so they spend a lot of 'quality time' (his family).
He warned me to take off my cap before he 'punched it', that thing
will 'scat'. :P

Yeah we made a few 'casts', but it was nearly dark,
& the 'Skeeters' were starting, so with no strikes we called it off.

Fossis, I have to agree with Dave. It's always a wonderful day when you get to spend some time with your Son and/or daughter. I'm sure you had a great time even if it was just a "boat ride".

Thanks for sharing your day with us.

Do they get this big over there?

Wow, that a 'whopper', I don't know a lot about the sizes, but I've seen pic's that were close.
