I am leaning more towards the handle of a German Bier Stein! The lids and sometimes even the handles were made out of Pewter and many times were often fashioned with scenes of German hunter's favorite passion (i.e. Wild Boar, Red Stag or Roe Deer hunting).

Did beer stein handles have wooden cores?

Thanks all:icon_thumleft:
The item is 2.5" across the top. seem rather small for a cane. walking sticks would be lighter and smaller I assume.:icon_scratch:
The protrusion that had me thinking tamper is like a 'thumb rest'?? I see on some stein handles.
Wish it were more complete. wood at both ends. odd. guess the wood would be steamed and bent to shape like boatbuilding. Griffins have similar look, (I still think wild boar) found this tin mourning brooch recently.

VPNavy's image looks to be in line with size, when I think cane, I think heavy for someone who needs one to walk, this item looks more a fancy walking stick carried as much under the arm as touching the ground, and Victorian era.
Were there any measurements included wherever you got that image?
similar size would give a green check I believe  Thanks again!
