Just visited a BoA and to my surprise their coins were paper wrapped and had new logos that I've never seen before. I was going to get $500 worth of dimes from them and then they pulled out paper wrapped Dunbar rolls. Yikes, I said "No Thanks". Is there any reason to get paper wrapped bank rolls for dimes? It's not worth the time to me. Sounds like WF will be the only bank with clear plastic wraps left up here. WF boxes recently have not been good up here either. Kinda sucks. We don't have coin counters up here so there is no luxury of quickly getting cash for dumps if you don't have them rolled. I spend 20 min to go through a box of halves, I definitely do not want to spend 20 min to do a box of dimes.

I asked what happened to Brinks? They told me they lost their contract with them and that Dunbar was cheaper. This is supposed to happen to all BoA's in the Bay Area. So is Dunbar only going to sort and wrap the BoA coins? They're going to move all BoA coins from the Brinks site to the Dunbar one? I don't get it. Or does Dunbar have it's own supply that BoA can draw from? That is the key question there.

Never ever heard of Dunbar being up here before. Kind of strange. It's like they came out of nowhere.

It doesnt add much time to roll dimes back up. You can buy a box of 1000 rolls for $7 shipped. it will cost you $.35 for 50 rolls. I check the roll, remove any silver, add a dime, put directly into new roll, seal, grab next one. It seems like a lot of work but after a box, maybe 2 you find your rhythm, you find what method works best for you and really, it take no time what so ever. Not as fast as dumping into a bag but really its not that bad to tell you the truth.

is Dunbar not advised to search through? i don't know this is why i'm asking i usually run garda

BoA coin comes out of the regions cash vault (a branch manager told me this), so my guess is who ever has their delivery contract will now be wrapping the coins.

I'd say why not, just go rim check. super quick, and 2 rosies = 1 40%!

They really suck Ive gotten 2 of them this week from my former clear box BofAs. Solid 2011s I just threw them all in disgust into the bag and took them to the dump bank. I didnt even bother to open 1

HaHa.. :laughing7:

I don't think the ones I saw were 2011's. They look like circulated coins. Did you have any success with these new Dunbar rolls? I may have no choice but to look through these the other WF boxes continue to suck. The teller was surprised I wanted the clear plastic wrapped rolls that I wanted to exchange back.

Dunbar would probably be no different than any other sorter. I just wonder if Dunbar had their own coin supply or does BoA coin supply stay the same? I just hate searching a box of dimes wrapped in paper.

No offense, I'm not going to buy rolls so I can CRH. If I was going to do it, I'd use the rolls the coins came in. That's what would slow this process down. Before, it'd only take me like 8 min to check a box of clear wrapped dimes and that's with me weighing all the rolls to make sure they're right. I wonder what Brinks will do if they lost the BoA contract. Not many other major banks out there.

It just adds to the excitement of searching a roll if you have to unwrap it. You can still edge search- use a razor to slit the paper and do a quick search. drop the dimes in a bag and dump them.

Out this way, the dimes I do better with are Dunbar then Brinks. But then again, you never know.
On the nickels, I do better with Brinks.

Weird, the BoA I pick up from in SF is only Loomis. Strings Paper wrapped rolls on everything. Doesn't take long to edge search them. Then you just through them all into the coin lock bags and take them in. I've seen Dunbar trucks around, but they are mostly for business'.

On the flip side, my finds with brinks boxes and clear wrapped coins is next to nothing. While paper wrapped coins provide more.

I think that your luck my change with the change of service. You'll just have to work a little harder for that silver.

Good luck.

Hmm Strange.. I never heard of BoA using Loomis. I suppose I have have to try it at some point. In order for you to get cash right away for your dumps, do you have to have them rolled? That's what I've been told around here. I can try to convince one of the banks to let me do it loose. What makes it easy with the clear plastic is that they don't question the rolls. Most of the time, they just see through it and accept them. Many times they even just let me to an exchange and will use the dumps to give out to merchants. That's what I liked about the clear wraps. I prefer not to dump them back into the system so to speak.
