Found these in a lake today by accident while metal detecting. Used a penny for size reference. Any ideas? Thanks RJ

Thanks. Have not a clue, just thought they were unusual looking in my scoop. If they are gemstones I need to find bigger ones.

Would most jewelry stores be able to tell me what they are?

I wouldn't advise it. I would seek a geologist/mineralogist. I know of a few places in W. North Carolina. You can PM me if you'd like. I'd be glad to help. -Luke

Probably wrong (and a wet blanket) but if there are cabins/houses on this lake, could they be pebbles from a fish tank? (sorry... I just had to say something since they look just like fish tank pebbles...)

I think they look more like blue bubble gum that use to come in those little draw string pouches. Taking them to a place tomorrow to get them checked out.
