OK,,,So this is not a "Treasure" post, but I don`t know what else to do. I have Googled it every way I can think of,,posted it on FB,,all to no avail. This is a jar of liquor,,,,the white stuff. I got it out of the pantry on Fri. and it has blue flakey floaties in it. What are they? Why are they in there? Is it safe? It`s been in the pantry for 2 months maybe. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx,,,Lori

Arsenic or copper sulphate crystals.

That happens when you buy liquor without a label.

I can't help but wonder if the flakes are coming off of the inside of the lid. Have you opened the jar at all?

Sorry, it is nothing I would want to ingest.

My Dad used to drink moonshine out of a canning jar but I dont ever recall anything floating in it.

if you drink it and you die, then you know it's bad for you. if it doesn't kill you, then I guess it was ok. :laughing7:

Thank you all for your answers and suggestions. NOT gonna be drinking this,,,but I`m gonna keep it around for a while and see what else might happen to it. Oh and its not from the lid and we have sipped from it a time or two. Thanx again

Everclear,,,ah yes, we used it to clean out the bongs back in the day. I use Diesel now when I make Apple pie liquor but this shine was supposed to be the best,,,,live and learn,,,and its not cheap!! I donated a 20$ bill for it.

Did you ask the person who made it?

I would ask the person who made it,,,,but it was a third party buy and the third party is now working in another state. Certainly has made me look at this product in a different light.

Same problem here. I found some, had left stored for a couple months and it has blue flakes attached to bottom of mason jar. From what I have read it IS NOT SAFE to drink. So I guess I will dump it out and not go back to the same source.

There were warnings way back when alcohol was illegal about the trustworthiness
of people that break the law. Like drug dealers.
It might be a copper compound from the still. Somethings not right.

Maybe the stuff was distilled through copper pipes and its copper silicate. Ah Ha turquoise.
