Hello,

Can anyone please tell me what would be the kind of kit I would need to polish up this bloodstone and similar big quartzy pieces. A rock tumbler won't hack it.Never found bloodstone so big before and really like this almost fist sized piece. New to polishing so please speak as if you were addressing a child. Thanks Photo1836.jpg

You be well off with a diamond saw to cut it up into sections and a cabochon machine, I'd say.

To determine what tools are needed, I would like to know what your plans are for the stone. Do you want to leave it intact, save for polishing losses, or do you want to cut it to manageable pieces for making cabochons? Perhaps something else entirely?

I have tumbled larger.

Time for more coffee.
