In a midst of a mini-slump for old coppers, but have managed a few relics that at least brought a smile to my face. The cufflinks are typical 1700's, and a couple of flat buttons, one with a nice hand engraved floral design and a brass piece with nice design on it, but other than a few other relics, not much to be excited about. The small ring appears to be gold and not plated, just not sure, and what its purpose would have been if it is gold is beyond me but it does appear to be solid gold.

Maybe tomorrow will bring me a nice old copper. :)

Hey Don..........if it wasn't for the wheats sents ..........i would say that is a very interesting area! Good luck going back............! HH

There is nothing like hunting an old homestead where several William III coppers and KGII coppers have come from and you get a beautiful signal that you know is silver. You dig, you see the silver and think for sure it will be a reale and lo and behold a 1942 Mercury Dime. DANG HUNTERS!! LOL

Yes, finding the scattered modern money at old sites is frustrating at times, but most of the time I will find the more modern stuff on the dirt road near the site and not actually at the the site, but I sure did find that Mercury dime where I least expected to.

The thing that gets you sometimes is the newer coins will be at the same depth or deeper than coins two hundred years older...... :)

Not too bad! Love the buttons!

Gold ring some nice relics. Gotta say for some reason your post has got the song "November Rain" ringing in my head now. Guns n Roses.

Congratulations,

Rev

i dont know, i wouldnt say thats all that bleak! nice buttons and musketballs. some pretty cool relics. nice finds!

Those are my kind of finds, Don. I love those relics and buttons. You got a musketball in every size, didn't you? :)

Wonderous pictures! ;)

Hey a day with gold and some buttons it could be a lot worse. Every time I find my self thinking $#@$@ wheaty. I try to remember how glad I was to find the first one back when I started. Nice digs Don. HH

Nice finds - looks like a broken up piece of a ring?

WTG and thanks for sharing ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've been in a dry spell the last week. It's tough when you are use to finding good stuff every week to go a weekend without anything exciting.
Good luck on your next hunt. You got a great spot.

My guess is the ring is a babies ring as it looks very small. Then again, I bought my lady a pinky ring a few months back, size 3....She could swim in the darned thing. GRRRRRRR. Anyway, some folks just have small fingers and besides.....ITS GOLD MAN!
Sweet find IMO!

Ah, good observation, YES, it was a ring that was oblong, I just barely put pressure on it to see if it could be made round again and it just fell apart. :)

My November finds were even bleaker, with not a single outing. Looks like you did OK even if there weren't any "wow" finds. Anytime I find an old flat button, I consider it worth the outing.
