Cool! When I found my first and only one I was so excited because I thought they were so valuable and then I found out I could get like $3 for it. -_-

Found a nick blank & a few cents. Anyone find a half planchet? Those & Ike blanks are pretty scarce.

That's neat i'm new to the this hobby and did'nt even know stuff like that was out there... Thanks for posting it..

Very cool! I had a teller show me a roll awhile back that she was saving of the golden dollar coins not opened, both ends had blank planchets on it, it was very cool. HH, Maverick.

Well, I did another box and got a typical mixof wheats, Canadian and memorial copper. Also an interesting older Netherlands cent. I'm surprised they use cent but its right on the coin. I like this coin.

Blank Planchets are cool. I have about 8 But my favorite is one that is blank on ONE side. The other side is a normal looking coin. Those are rarer and harder to find. Good job. :icon_thumright:

A couple of years ago I found a blank half planchet in a box of 2001-D halves. If I remember correctly a couple of other hunters found them too at the same time.

If you search for blank planchet it should bring up the thread and pictures.

Blanks are more common these days as I heard you get when as a souvenere when you take the tour at the mint. HH Mark

I found a 1935 cent that's blank on the wheat side... I thought it had been sanded at first, but it seems to be the same thickness. Waiting on a more accurate scale to weigh it.

Is that even possible?

That coin is worth $5. It is the same one that was made in Netherlands, but all 1942 bronze cents were sent to Curacao for circulation, and zinc cents were introduced on the "mainland."

Is that even possible?

I think it is possible as my child got one at work as cashier. On the plate under the roosevelt dime. 25c has Geo. on other side and red book lists at $5..00?20120511_105751.jpg

I found a blank planchet last week. It was the third one I have found in the last year. I keep them all.

interesting, I just got a solid 2001-D box from the bank and wasn't sure what to do with it. looks like I'll be going through it for half blank planchets!

I'm getting those here too, I hate it when I open the box and I know there is no chance for silver. I open and dump them as fast as I can....NEXT!
