Hello all,,,
Well, as usual my ol' lady has put the skunk on me with a find from work...
It's a blank penny? Planchet...<<<( I believe that's spelled right, but the spell checker don't like it ) What would be the correct term for this item?
Do they have any value? I can't seem to find any info on them except for the fact that they are collectable...
Thanks...

Ooops,, forgot the pic... ;D Looks the same on both sides, has the rim, but nothing at all in the center...

Hi Leon,
I believe the penny planchet like yours is worth around 3 to 3.50.Found one myself in a roll of pennies last year.Good find.

Hi Leon, Reminds me of a weird quarter I have in my collection. I don't remember were I got it. Either from running a store years ago or from a collection I acquired years ago. Just made me think of the coin when I saw the one you posted.

Hope you don't mind me attaching a few pics to your post and story.

Thanks all,,, and I don't mind a bit, Jer... The more the merry'er... ;D
Cool Quarter, has it been struck so hard on the reverse that it messed the face up, or was it ever stamped?
Thanks again for all the info, Good luck & Happy hunting~

I used to have a penny with both sides had lincoln on it there was no back. I think I got 50 bucks for it but it was when I didnt know anything about coins. WISH I STILL HAD IT.

The back is perfect. It's the front that is smooth. Looks like lead almost. I checked to see if it was altered by someone. But it appears to be to good and no trace of someone altering it. Don't know what happened to this one. I wonder if it is a true minted peice that got through circulation. Or did someone pass it off in desperate needs by handing it to the clerk upside down.

Don't know alot on coin errors. Don't even know if it's a real mistake by the mint or a coin someone messed up. Who would mess a quarter up.

JerDFX I think what you have is a Magicians coin. See coins are stamped both sides all at once, so that error can't really happen.

Keep @ it and HH!!
