Hey guys! i was mushroom hunting in the woods of Pennsylvania and stumbled upon this odd rock. It was next to a fallen tree with other rocks with it, but the color was black and it looked out of place. I have absolutely no idea what it is, but what I do know is that its beautiful. So if anyone knows what it is, please do tell. Ill upload a few pictures. If more are needed just ask! In the light it sparkles a lot.

Im thinking maybe Boninite. Thoughts? "The characteristics of these boninites can be used to constrain tectonic models of the evolution of the northeastern Appalachians." Makes sense.

reminds me of "Clinkers" caused by impure Coal being burned

Oh, the rock was a whole until I smashed it. Extremely light in weight , brittle on the inside. Hm, clinkers eh? I wonder how that would have ended up in my mountain. Although, over 100 years ago there used to be railroad tracks and a massive cigar factory.

a Train would do it

And Clinkers usually are very Light.
as I said it's mainly the part of the Coal that is too impure to burn

Those clinkers drove me nuts at a home in MI. I keep getting signals and then I'd find a small piece of "rock". And it was around an outside opening in foundation where I think coal was shoveled down into a basement. And... I'd bet some debris was throw back out. Well I'm thinking it was unburnable coal.... it set off my MD easily.

Looks just like the clinkers I'd get in my coal fired forge when I used to shoe horses.

that looks like a form of fulgarite I find in Indiana. are there spots where the colors change if you move the light around? found it on elevation with some sand content?

I see this all the time. It's slag. That from smelting down metal to get out impurities. Their more to your story than you realize. Look at it real good you will see more.
