Blackbeards Sword, Found!

Re: Blackbeard's Sword, Found!

COOOL!!!!! I just have 1 question. How would/do they know if it was actually Blackbeards? The possibility would be just the same as it could have been one of the crews sword.

Most excellent question. Already speculated as not being Blackbeards actual sword, with the stature of his bearing it would have been much better quality rather than a hunting hanger of the time. Very cool anyway !

Yeah, he wasn't exactly a democratic leader.

Re: Blackbeard's Sword, Found!

The Archies claim they found this sword at the wreck site of Queen Anne's Revenge...... well, here's the hole in thier story..... Blackbeard intentionally ran Queen Anne's Revenge into the sandbar on purpose (unbeknown to the crew). He had his treasure, and as much cargo as he could carry loaded onto a smaller Spanish Sloop, and sailed away with a hand-picked crew of just enough men to operate the smaller vessel, leaving the large majority of his crew behind..... Blackbeard was the very first practicioner of what we now call "corporate down-sizing". He got rid of the bulk of his crew in order to reap a greater profit from the reduced splitting of the treasure. Blackbeard was much later on, attacked and killed many miles away from the Queen Anne's Revenge wreck, so in all essence and aspects......that is NOT Blackbeard's sword. For the Archies to make this claim is not only false, it's just downright arrogant and absurd.... sounds like to me someone was trying to justify thier funding awhile longer.
