Detector(s) used
Sov Elite, CZ20, Minelab Sovereign XS, Explorer II, My eyeballs to bloody fingers have done me well also.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Still waiting to see others post some of their Trinitite specimens.
Acquired this super rare variety from a large collection which was collected after the Trinity test.
It's the Black variety...not your typical green Trinitite.
This is really interesting material from an very historical time.

Only if your slag is radioactive! :laughing7:

It's just fused sand from the bomb site. I used to have a pail full when I lived in New Mexico in the 60's. The black is said to be from the steel tower the bomb was perched on the red material is from copper wiring and the green is sand. If you had some red still showing the copper it would be worth something to some collectors.

Fulgurite....? Don't see it
Glass furnace....? Don't see it
Its possible I guess...but Trinitite does this, that yours doesn't do.
I know my material isn't quite like that...here is a quick look at some of the REAL fun STUFF. It's not to hot but for (over 70 years ago) and some pieces have very very low counts.
Don't you just love the background sound as it passes over this fasanating material. Gotta appreciate the history on how this came about.
Yes, this is from my collection, legal to own, sell, but can't collect it at Ground zero anymore.
There is Trinitite in the form of Black, Red, Blue, some yellow, Blue haze, lots of common green, burnt crust, and actually a small amount of grey glass Trinitite in this collection. Always looking to add to it, so please if you have any you would like to sell, please contact me.
