Black Sand

Could anyone tell me where I might find a consistant bulk source of black sand (after someone has gotten everything out of it that they wont, of course).

The answer is a bit long to explain here, but it has to do with Dr. Joe E. Champion's book "20th Century Alchemy". Black Sand is the key ingredient of one of the two featured processes.
