Black powder bullets?

I found these lead items near a shooting range that I know black powder guns are fired at. Two of them look like the three ring civil war style bullets I see here on Treasurenet all the time, but they are different sizes. The third item is a round ball that seems too big to be fired from a gun. The penny is there to show the relative size of these three items.

Thanks for any info you can offer.

The first one on the left looks like a black powder bullet and ditto the round ball. If the are .58" or smaller the are most likely modern. .44, .50. and .58 are the three most popular modern black powder bullets. The earlier BP bullets tended to be larger in diameter. The bullet on the right is a modern cast bullet. hope this clarifies. Monty
