Black Glass

I found this piece of thick black glass while metal detecting. One side is finished, the other raw, and is at least an inch thick at its center. Any ideas what it could be?

first thing first its actually dark green if you hold it up to a strong light or the sun you should be able to see it

i think its the bottom to a large wine bottle

One thought, it could be obsidian...volcanic glass.
