I bought this bottle about 50 years ago from an antique dealer who said he dug it in an old foundation. There is no embossing on it but was made in a 3 part mold and has a pontil mark in a pushed up bottom. The glass is very black, only the strongest lite shines through it. Thanks in advance for any help. P1020078.JPGP1020081.JPGP1020079.JPGP1020080.JPG

Cool find! Unfortunately I am not that knowledgeable in this department but it looks pretty sweet.

Until someone pipes in - I searched Google and found one that looks similar (even the bottom). Yours in on the left and the other on the right (Circa 1900 - 1909 Stoneware Glass). SEE: Pair of antique bottles

I found a few others but the bottoms were different. Hope this helps...

Thanks vpnavy, that bottle does look simular but I think mine is much older with the pontil mark.

The pontil mark is finished, I'm not sure if this would be classed as a sanded pontil or not. For dating I'm thinking 1870-1880's online right now a 3 piece mold, black glass bottle is anywhere from $30-up depending on style and what the market will bear. I was thinking the $30-40 range for a clean bottle would be retail.
