So i got up early this morning because my back was killing me. Reading the forum while I drink my coffee. I have always been an edge searcher for silver and proofs. Early on I did some error searching but usually I don't have the halves in my possession long enough to warrant a full search so I typically don't do it. I like to drive around buying and dumping CWR in succession.

Anyway, I have $130 in halves that I bought on Wednesday that I was waiting to dump. I found two 40% silvers in this bunch. Fine by me. Well, as I read about your no FG coins I thought why not. I start looking through these rolls and what do I find but a 1982 P with no FG! I have never found this type of error before! It's not the prettiest Kennedy I've seen but it's far from the worst. I'll put up a picture in a sec...

The engraver's initials on the reverse, under the right drumstick of the turkey. In 1982 (and a few other years) there was an error where one of the dies was missing the initials.

Hell what does FG stand for?

Frank Gasparro (August 26, 1909 – September 29, 2001) was the tenth Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, holding this position from February 23, 1965 to January 16, 1981. Before that, he was Assistant Engraver. He designed both sides of the Susan B. Anthony dollar, both sides of the Eisenhower Dollar (with the exception of the Bicentennial issue of 1976), the Lincoln Memorial reverse of the cent (minted from 1959 to 2008), and the reverse of the Kennedy half dollar.
